The Minnesota Vikings are set to move into a new, one-point-one billion dollar stadium for the 2016 season... But before it does...the team wants to change the name of the street it's on...because it just can't bear the name... The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports...U-S Bank Stadium sits on a three block stretch of Chicago Avenue... It got its name in the 19th century...but it also happens to be the home of hated division rival and twice a season opponent, the Chicago Bears. A request has been made to change that stretch of Chicago Avenue to Vikings Way... The team noted when the city's baseball team, the Twins, got a new stadium...a portion of the street it sits on was renamed Twins Way. So far it looks like the city is leaning toward approving the change...but there may be one stumbling block... That portion of the street the Vikings want renamed...also has a commemorative name... ...Kirby Puckett Place named after the late Twins Hall Of Fame outfielder. The request has to go through the proper channels and a decision should come some time in May.
