Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This thesis challenges the nature of freedom- spiritual, physical, and mental- the lengths we should go to attain it, and what we should risk to protect it, both for ourselves and others. Free Lulu explores the story of a Hungarian Roma family who have fled Hungary in mysterious, violent circumstances. In Canada, their refugee status is denied, and they are ordered to be deported; however, an ancient tradition in Canada claims that anyone who seeks asylum in a religious institution cannot be deported until they leave the building. With the support of their social worker, the family finds refuge in a church supervised by an aging Anglican priest, and they await an increasingly impossible refugee-status appeal. Free Lulu charts the next year as it unfolds in the claustrophobic quarters of the church basement as family, social worker, and priest all seek liberation from their own prisons.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
