Abstract
Des hommes de la quarantaine se retrouvent pour une quinzaine de jours dans une cabane du Maniwaki, au nord de Montréal, pour une partie de chasse. Ils cherchent à trouver le légendaire orignal, "la bête lumineuse", animal mythique des forêts du Canada. Enfin, c'est l'heure de la chasse à l'orignal! C'est aussi l'occasion d'intenses retrouvailles entre amis qui s'étaient perdus de vue depuis longtemps. Réussira-t-on à "tuer" cette année? Qui décrochera le trophée? C'est l'heure suprême... Plaisir de se mesurer aux éléments, et de connaître ses limites! Expérience de la mort pour exorciser sa propre mort et renouer avec la chaîne entière de la vie! Mais aussi, esprit de panache, de bravache et de vantardise, et transposition de moeurs sauvages de la meute au sein du groupe d'amis, où on a tôt fait de repérer un souffre-douleur
