Abstract
In una città senza nome del Nord Africa, a seguito degli sciagurati eventi, un'autorità centrale nota come la Porta ha assunto il potere assoluto. I cittadini sono costretti a presentare richiesta per tutto - per mangiare e per spostarsi, e persino per essere curati - ma la Porta rimane chiusa e muta, mentre sulla sua soglia inizia a formarsi un'enorme coda di questuanti: la Fila. In questo libro Basma Abdel Aziz racconta i lunghi mesi passati nella Fila da parte di un'umanità catapultata in una realtà parallela e pericolosamente simile al mondo in cui viviamo. La Fila è un ritratto di quanto sta accadendo appena al di là del Mediterraneo. Descrivendo la natura profonda degli autoritarismi, ci racconta la realtà allucinata di un mondo dilaniato tra la delusione post-Primavere Arabe e il sogno disperato di fuggire da un sistema in cui vivere è diventato impossibile.
