Wayang Beber merupakan peninggalan karya budaya Indonesia asli yang muncul sejak jaman sebelum Majapahit dan pada masa itu pegelaran wayang ini sangat popular di masyarakat. Namun keberadaan Wayang Beber pada saat ini semakin terpinggirkan karena kemajuan tekhnologi menjadikan bermunculannya sarana-sarana hiburan yang lebih menarik, semakin canggih dan sesuai dengan tuntutan audiens serta selera jaman yang menaungi dan mengiringinya. Selain itu terpinggirkannya Wayang Beber rnungkin juga karena aspek presentasinya yang juga sudah kurang menarik. Jika diamati, ketika dipagelarkan Wayang Beber terlihat sangat moncton karena penonton harus memperhatikan gambar diam dalam waktu yang relatif lama sekaligus mendengarkan narasi dalang yang kadang tidak dimengerti artinya karena memakai bahasa Bahasa Jawa halus.
