Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokulda görev yapan öğretmenlerin çatışma ve çatışma yönetimine ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenoloji (olgu bilim) deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Denizli ili Buldan ilçesinde ortaokullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerden kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme ile seçilen 15 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır ve veriler bireysel görüşmeler yoluyla toplanmıştır. Ortaokul öğretmenlerinin görüşleri incelendiğinde öğretmenlerin çatışmayı daha çok düşünce farklılığı olarak tanımladıkları görülmüştür. Okullarda genellikle kişilik ve düşünce farklılıklardan, iletişim eksikliğinden, yöneticilerin eşit davranmamasından, örgüt içindeki rekabet ve yarış ortamlarından kaynaklanan çatışmalar yaşanmaktadır. Öğretmenler yöneticilerle dikey çatışma, kendi aralarında ise yatay çatışma yaşamaktadır. Araştırmada ortaokullarda yaşanan çatışmaların olumlu etkisinin farklı bakış açısı kazandırması, olumsuz etkisinin ise motivasyon düşüşü ve okul ortamının bozulması olduğu görülmüştür. Ortaokullarda görev yapan öğretmenler çatışmalarda en fazla bütünleştirme stratejisi kullanmaktadır. Araştırmada hükmetme stratejisine ait herhangi bir bulguya rastlanmamıştır. Ortaokulda görev yapan öğretmenlerin çatışma ve çatışma yönetimiyle ilgili algıları ve ürettikleri metaforlar genel olarak olumsuzdur. Savaş, fay hattı, fırtınalı gün çatışma kavramı ile ilgili üretilen olumsuz metaforlardır.
