Abstract
The second "Pere Marquette No. 18" was built at Chicago in 1911 to replace the original which foundered in 1910. Owned by Pere Marquette Railway Co., she ran separate routes from Ludington to Milwaukee and Manitowoc to Kewanee. She was the senior vessel of the fleet until she was bought by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Co. in 1948. She was laid up at Ludington, Michigan as a storehouse in 1954 and was sold to Luria Brothers & Co. for scrapping. Towed to Hamilton, Ontario in 1957, she was scrapped that winter by Steel Co. of Canada, Ltd.
