Le portrait tracé dans ce chapitre est celui du territoire Anjou–Montréal-Est, composé de deux parties : les territoires de l’arrondissement d’Anjou de la ville de Montréal ainsi que de la ville de Montréal-Est. Avec 44 713 personnes (données intégrales, voir la note ci-dessus) en 2006, soit 2,4% de la population de l’île de Montréal, le territoire Anjou–Montréal-Est a vu sa population croître de 7,6% depuis 2001 (41 562), plus de trois fois plus que dans l’ensemble de l’île (2,2%). Près du quart des personnes sont nées hors Canada sur le territoire Anjou–Montréal-Est (22,6%), soit moins que les 33% que l’on retrouve sur l’ensemble de l’île de Montréal. Précisons que les personnes nées hors Canada ne forment que 7,4% des effectifs de Montréal-Est. De plus, si seulement 16,4% de la population a déclaré être issue des minorités visibles, contre 25% pour l’île, ils ne sont que 7,2% sur le territoire de Montréal-Est...
