A celulite juvenil ou dermatite granulomatosa juvenil estéril é considerada uma dermatite aguda, pouco frequente, que acomete em geral cães entre três semanas a seis meses de idade. Algumas raças podem apresentar predileção como o Golden Retriever, Dachshund, Labrador Retriever, Beagle e Lhasa Apso, em que indivíduos da mesma ninhada podem ser acometidos. A causa é desconhecida com algumas discussões sobre a etiologia e patogenia, seria relacionada à hipersensibilidade ou doença viral. Em geral as lesões apresentadas são geralmente estéreis, e o uso de antibióticos isoladamente torna o processo de recuperação lento, levando a uma baixa aceitação da hipótese de agentes externos e, como se tem uma resposta positiva significativa com glicocorticoides; acredita-se ser mais provável a ocorrência de disfunção imunológica. Os sinais clínicos incluem linfadenomegalia submandibular e pré-escapular marcante, alopecia, edema grave, exsudação, pústulas e nódulos inflamatórios que acometem o pavilhão auricular na face côncava, o focinho e região periocular. O diagnóstico é realizado pela anamnese, exame físico e resultados de biopsia das lesões iniciais e a histopatologia permite identificar dermatite piogranulomatosa à supurativa grave. O tratamento é realizado com imunossupressores de glicocorticoides, em doses elevadas, como prednisona e depois realizado o desmame. Diante desses fatos, o objetivo do presente trabalho é apresentar um relato de caso de celulite juvenil em Montes Claros/MG.
