Abstract
Veel instellingen in de verstandelijk-gehandicaptensector hebben in de laatste jaren hun zorgaanbod vernieuwd. Bij deze vernieuwingen gaat het vaak om verzorgd wonen, dat wil zeggen wonen met 24-uurszorg dat kleinschaliger ingevuld wordt. Uit een eerdere SCP-studie (Zorg voor verstandelijke gehandicapten, 2005) blijkt dat van de 60.000 zorgintensieve cliënten in de verstandelijk-gehandicaptenzorg de helft verzorgd woont en de andere helft niet. In een vervolg op deze studie wordt in Juist beschermd uitgezocht of er aanwijsbare factoren zijn die ervoor zorgen dat de ene cliënt verzorgd woont en de andere cliënt, met een vergelijkbare handicap, (begeleid) zelfstandig of bij de ouders woont.
