Abstract
Cet essai explore le potentiel de l’art-thérapie à visée corporelle dans le traitement des troubles du comportement alimentaire (TCA), en s’appuyant sur le concept d’embodiment. Face à l’augmentation préoccupante des TCA au Canada et aux limites des approches traditionnelles pour y répondre, cette recherche s’interroge sur la manière dont les pratiques art-thérapeutiques intégrant le corps peuvent favoriser une reconnexion sensible, bienveillante et durable à celui-ci. L’objectif est d’examiner la question suivante : en quoi l’art-thérapie à visée corporelle, fondée sur l’embodiment, peut-elle aider les femmes souffrant de TCA à se reconnecter à leur corps et à leur vécu de manière bienveillante pour favoriser leur rétablissement? Pour y répondre, cette recherche s’appuie sur une revue de littérature croisant les notions entourant les TCA, les apports des neurosciences, de l’art-thérapie et plus spécifiquement de l’artthérapie à visée corporelle. L’objectif est aussi d’éclairer les processus internes qui façonnent la relation au corps chez les personnes vivant avec un TCA, afin de mettre en lumière le potentiel de l’art-thérapie comme levier thérapeutique complémentaire, au sein du continuum de soins existant.
