Abstract
Humanbeing has given great importance to his independency from the beginning of history and he has reflected this attitude to the states that he had founded. This emotion, which has found a place as a concept of sovereignty in the structure of states, is stil important today. Although there are some disputes regarding that the content of the concept of sovereignty has changed, the concept of sovereignty is still protecting its core. In order to become a member of EU, which can be accepted as the most important project of globalization with its supranational structure, the candidate states have to transfer some of their authorities regarding sovereignty. Turkey, aiming to become a member of EU, will have to change her constitution. At this point, she will have to transfer some of the authorities regarding legislature, executive and judiciary to EU. This fact is not compatible with the structure of an indepent and sovereign state. Basically, the decision to be made is not about a simple change of laws. The decision to be made is to know that Turkey’s membership in EU will result with the transferring of independency and sovereignty which were gained by struggling in the first quarter of the 20th century, and to make a choice according to these facts
