Si hay un ámbito cultural en Quebec que ha \ndesarrollado y abordado profusamente en las \núltimas décadas todos los temas relacionados \ncon la(s) identidad(es) en general y la(s) \nhomosexual(es) en particular ése es claramente \nel teatro, fomentando una visión pluralista de \nla sociedad. Marginalidad, discriminación, deseo, \ncuestionamiento de las relaciones afectivas \nde pareja, de amistad o de familia han sido el \nepicentro temático de muchas obras teatrales. A \ntravés del análisis de La Duchesse de Langeais \n(1968) y Hosanna (1971) de Michel Tremblay, \ndos obras transgresoras de marcado cariz \nsubversivo que tienen el travestismo como eje \ncentral, pretendemos poner de relieve el gran \nvalor social de este teatro reivindicativo y políticamente \npedagógico, así como su enorme \ncontribución tanto a la visibilidad de la diferencia \nlingüística y cultural como a la diversidad \nde identidades y orientaciones sexuales dentro \ny fuera de Quebec.
