Abstract
Данное исследование посвящено Арктической политике Канады в Арктике в начале XXI века. На основе официальных открытых источников и аналитических материалов в работе рассматриваются вопросы международно-правового статуса, ресурсного потенциала канадской части Арктики. Особое внимание уделено политике и конкретным действиям четырёх канадских кабинетов, а именно – правительства Ж. Кретьена, П. Мартина, С.Харпера и Д. Трюдо. В исследовании сделан вывод о том, что сегодня в Арктике нет неразрешимых конфликтов интересов, все вопросы могут быть решены на основе международного права и на основе Конвенции ООН по морскому праву 1982г. Ресурсный потенциал канадской арктической зоны не может быть освоен в полной мере в связи с нынешними низкими ценами на энергоносители. Что касается арктической политики, то чётко прослеживается зависимость действий Премьер-министра от его партийной принадлежности. Несмотря на это сохраняются и сквозные, постоянные задачи Канады на Севере такие как защита суверенитета или устойчивое развитие.
