Se presenta un inventario de gran parte de la literatura cubana sobre endocrinología, que abarca desde 1840 hasta 1959, y que constituye una aproximación a toda la bibliografía de la materia generada en la isla durante ese período. Este inventario consta de una sección bibliográfica en la que aparecen -en orden cronológico y en el estilo Vancouver- 150 referencias de artículos publicados en diversas revistas médicas cubanas, editadas durante la época objeto de estudio. Asimismo dispone de una sección de autores, en la que se brinda una relación alfabética de los firmantes de los trabajos consignados en la sección bibliográfica. También cuenta con una sección temática, que contiene los descriptores y los calificadores que, en orden alfabético, identifican los asuntos generales y específicos tratados en cada uno de los artículos citados.
