Abstract
Social Security and Medicare Taxes: Both the employer and employee Social Security and Medicare tax rates will remain at 7.65% for the 1993 calendar year, the 7.65% rate will continue to be separated into two tax rates applied to different taxable wage bases as follows:-6.2% is considered the Social Security tax rate applied to a wages up to $60,600; -1.45% is considered the Medicare tax rate applied to wages.For 1994, the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 made all wages earned subject to the Medicare Tax.Federal Withholding Taxes: The value of a single withholding allowance has increased from $2,350 to $2,450 for the 1994 calendar year.
