Abstract
Over the years, the management of residual materials, whether of domestic or industrial origin, has improved greatly. In some cases, the wastes are incinerated and transformed into ashes which are buried in adequate landfills. However, efforts have been made to valorize these materials into valuable aggregates, thus increasing the life span of landfills. In this context, my master's project aims to study the carbonation/granulation potential of the called "bottom ash" from the Quebec City waste incinerator (heavy fraction of the ash that settles by gravity at the base of the incinerator's furnaces). The methodology is based on the development and optimization of the granulation and carbonation processes of the bottom ash in the context of the double valorization of waste and the production of valorizable aggregates. Portland cement was used as a binder for all granulation tests. A pre-treatment step (drying, sieving and grinding) was performed on the bottom ash before carrying out the carbonation and granulation tests. Characterization tests were performed to evaluate the theoretical CO2 capture capacity of the bottom ash matrix. Based on the preliminary results, the carbonation operating conditions will be optimized during future work to increase the CO2 sequestration capacity of the bottom ash. Different operating conditions were optimized to arrive at the bottom ash granulation recipe. A wide range of light aggregates was obtained during the tests. The best pelletizing yields were obtained with a percentage of cement between 9 and 12% and a minimum percentage of water of 15% in relation to the total mass of reagents, 20 to 45 rotations per minute and a reaction time of 30 minutes. In accordance with the standards of the province, the analyses carried out on the initial sample and the manufactured aggregates reveal that the bottom ash used is not dangerous for the environment and is classified in category III of the valorization guide. The possible use of bottom ash aggregates according to categories I and II will require a more exhaustive characterization or a specific pre-treatment.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
