Abstract
section 4 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-Section 4. Nothing contained in this act shall be construed as to authorize the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority as supplier of water to the city of Boston and other cities and towns to reduce the water in the Sudbury river below a sufficient height to maintain at all times a running stream therein, which during the period when said Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is taking water for the use of those communities supplied by it from any point or points above the so-called Framingham Dam number one on the Sudbury river, shall mean that said Massachusetts Water Resources Authority must leave .flowingpast said Framingham Dam number one a reasonable instream flow in the Sudbury river and may not take water from said Sudbury river during such period as the flow past said Framingham Dam number one would be insufficient to maintain a reasonable instream flow; provided, however, that any withdrawals from the Sudbury river by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority shall be pursuant to the applicable provisions of chapter five hundred and ninety-two of the acts of nineteen hundred and eighty-five and chapter six hundred and fifty-eight of the acts of nineteen hundred and eighty-three.
