Abstract
У даній статті розглянуто традиційні й інноваційні особливості муралів на території міст Канади та Чилі. Зокрема, наведено огляд публікацій, які висвітлюють процес становлення вуличного мистецтва Північної та Південної Америки. Означено теорії щодо появи даного арту в працях американських і британських учених (Pamela Dennant, Henry Chalfant, Martha Cooper, Olivier Pabene, Rob Palmer). Висвітлено тематику муралів Канади у містах Торонто, Онтаріо та на о. Монреаль. Виокремлено зразки революційних стінописів у вуличному мистецтві чилійських міст (Сантьяго). З них, окремо охарактеризовано творчість групи райтерів Brigada Ramona Parra (BRP). Проведено порівняльний аналіз відтворених сюжетів та образно-символічного значення муралів на зазначених територіях. Виявлено, що на більшість із них вплинуло індивідуальне світосприйняття урбан-творців на території Північної та Південної Америки. Висвітлено той факт, що важливе значення у виборі тематики для стінописів художники, насамперед, приділяють таким чинникам, як географічні кордони, історичний процес становлення та розвитку держави, розташування стінопису за формулою «тема = функція місця», вплив культур сусідніх країн, етностилістика.
