Abstract
Las tres presidentas de las universidades más importantes de los EE. UU. permitieron que los políticos las intimidaran. Quienes aman las universidades —subraya Ignatieff— lo hacen porque son comunidades unidas, no en torno a una política compartida, sino en torno a un compromiso común con los cánones de la investigación y la enseñanza científicas y académicas. Michael Ignatieff \nEnsayista, académico y expolítico canadiense. Ignatieff ha ocupado puestos docentes en las universidades de Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard y Toronto. Entre sus libros cabe destacar «Isaiah Berlin. Una biografía» (Taurus, 1999, 2018). Desde 2021 es profesor de Historia en la Universidad Central Europea (Budapest). Según el autor, es cierto que en los campus de EE.UU. las modas izquierdistas absurdas no se acaban nunca. «Pero estas instituciones son demasiado pluralistas, diversas y competitivas como para permitir que una sola ideología, especialmente una tan ridícula como la woke, se apodere de ellas».
