Abstract
Ce texte accompagne l’exposition Remplir les conditions qui aura été présentée au Lieu, centre en art actuel à Québec du 25 septembre au 4 octobre 2020. Par une approche descriptive, les trois premiers chapitres de ce texte sont consacrés au décorticage de trois œuvres réalisées entre l’automne 2018 et l’automne 2020, soit Sans titre, Résidence ouverte et Une et trois sculptures. L’essentiel de ce qui est proposé vise à montrer par quoi ces sculptures, construites à la main avec des matériaux ordinaires et des méthodes simples, prennent corps. Ces trois chapitres se conduisent et se construisent au fur et à mesure de la découverte d’aspects qui, suivant les prolongements qui en sont extraits, sont autant de poignées par lesquelles se saisir de l’œuvre. Les réflexions faites à partir de ces œuvres préparent l’appréciation du projet Remplir les conditions, dont il est question par anticipation dans le quatrième chapitre. Alors que le projet Remplir les conditions est en phase de développement, ce chapitre soulève des réflexions et des pistes de travail potentielles. L’exposition Remplir les conditions aura pris forme lors d’une résidence de création tenue au Lieu du 11 au 25 septembre 2020.
