En la planificación de sistemas de radiocomunicaciones es común el uso de modelos de propagación para predecir las coberturas radio, y poder diseñar el sistema. Dichos modelos se basan en la recolección exhaustiva de medidas para poder tanto desarrollarlos como ajustarlos. El proyecto trata sobre el diseño e implementación de un sistema basado en un módem USB de datos móviles y un PC portátil, comunicados con el equipo R&S CMW500. Dicho equipo actúa como estación base de una red privada GSM para dar cobertura a la estación móvil. Por otro lado disponemos de un GPS conectado al PC portátil.
\nEste sistema permite realizar mapas de cobertura registrando parámetros como la posición GPS, la potencia recibida, la calidad de la señal recibida (%), la red a la que el módem USB se ha conectado, fecha/hora, etc.
\nFinalmente, estas medidas se gestionarán adecuadamente desde dicho PC portátil mediante un software desarrollado a tal efecto. Para ello nos basaremos en el lenguaje de programación de Matlab.
