Abstract

ABSTRACT: Companies' prosperity increasingly depends on their integration into their innovation ecosystem (IE), since in today's fast-moving innovation environment, they often lack the means to achieve their goals alone. While IE are, in theory, a real opportunity to create shared value, in practice they are difficult to orchestrate, and there are several challenges holding back the collaboration of players within the ecosystem. To the best of our knowledge, there is currently no tool available for strategic thinking and planning on an ecosystem scale. The aim of this study is to propose a strategic thinking tool that considers the complexity of the ecosystem structure and enables players in the same IE to define a common vision for the creation of shared value, and to collaborate to meet the challenges of innovation. This research is based on the DRM ("Design Research Methodology") for the development of the tool. First, the research clarification phase consists of a literature review on innovation ecosystems, strategic tools and the relationship between these two themes and digital transformation. Then, the first descriptive study is a data-driven exploratory research aimed at forming clusters of Quebec manufacturing companies according to their technological intentions. The aim is to form groups that are consistent in their technological strategies, in order to optimize value co- creation when using the tool. The third stage is a prescriptive study, during which the strategic thinking tool is developed based on specifications, inspirations from the literature, discussions and two pre-tests. Finally, the second descriptive study consists in testing the developed tool within the manufacturing ecosystem of a Quebec municipality. The steps taken led to the development of workshops and a roadmap to foster technological development and collaboration within the IE. The theoretical contribution of this project is the development of a strategic thinking tool adapted to innovation ecosystems, which fills a gap in the specialized literature on strategic management. In addition, the study identified the key points for value co-creation and strategic thinking in the ecosystem context. From a practical point of view, this study has helped to initiate collaborative strategic thinking and planning about digital transformation within a manufacturing ecosystem.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
