Le vingtième siècle a vu de nombreux bouleversements dans le domaine de l'édition littéraire au Québec: les articles, mémoires et thèses produits par des chercheurs du domaine de l'histoire du livre au Canada en témoignent bien. Le présent mémoire ajoutera à ces recherches en offrant une étude de l'édition littéraire en langue anglaise au Québec, en commençant par la microscopique First Statement Press, créée par John Sutherland en 1943 à Montréal, pour terminer avec Conundrum Press, fondée au tournant du vingt et unième siècle. Nous proposons, par le biais du présent mémoire, d'identifier les principaux agents qui ont marqué l'évolution de l'édition littéraire anglo-québécoise depuis 1943 jusqu'à 2000. L'étude du réseau que constituent ces agents constituera donc le projet central de ce mémoire. Le premier chapitre est consacré tout particulièrement à la trajectoire professionnelle de Louis Dudek, figure centrale de l'édition littéraire anglophone du Québec de cette époque, et se termine sur une étude de cas soulignant les activités éditoriales de DC Books, dernière maison fondée par Dudek et aujourd'hui dirigée par Steve Luxton et Keith Henderson. Les chapitres suivants offrent à leur tour trois études de maisons d'édition--Véhicule Press, Villeneuve Publications et Conundrum Press--qui permettront de brosser un portrait global de cette industrie québécoise, de ses temps forts et des changements qu'elle a subis au cours des cinq dernières décennies. Enfin, les deux annexes donnent un aperçu des principales maisons d'édition anglophones fondées au Québec durant la période circonscrite et une analyse sommaire des statistiques de l'édition en français et en anglais compilées par Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec, respectivement.
