Este trabajo se propone investigar las conexiones epistolares entretejidas por Carmen Laforet y Ramón J. Sender entre 1965 y 1975 y recopiladas por Israel Rolón-Barada en el libro "Puedo contar contigo, Correspondencia", publicado por Destino en 2003. Además de vislumbrar los temas medulares de la correspondencia y las relaciones editoriales entre los dos, el artículo se enfoca también en las características del formato epistolar, aquí hibridado con inyecciones novelescas, monólogos, reseñas literarias y frisos históricos. Por lo tanto, el conjunto de cartas combina el riguroso juicio sobre los avatares históricos de España y el talante más íntimo y doliente de dos intelectuales que apuestan por un puente de diálogo.
