"O objetivo deste estudo foi elaborar o psicodiagnóstico de uma paciente com dermatite atópica. De forma a fazer um estudo comparativo com a literatura usualmente citada em psicossomática, a qual conta com vários autores que utilizam e difundem a alexitimia como característica desses enfermos, e mais especificamente nos casos de tal dermatose, quando são descritos como tendo humor irritado, raiva, comprometimento da autoimagem e da autoestima, além de alta incidência de personalidade do tipo A. A paciente, de 12 anos de idade, tem problemas somáticos desde a primeira infância, sendo que dois anos antes do psicodiagnóstico surgiram as lesões na pele. O diagnóstico de dermatite atópica foi confirmado em um laudo médico e a jovem foi encaminhada ao tratamento psicológico por seu dermatologista. Utilizou-se como método um psicodiagnóstico com a realização de entrevistas semidirigidas, anamnese, o Método de Rorschach, o Teste de Apercepção Infantil Figuras de Animais - CAT-A, as versões brasileiras da Toronto Alexithymia Scale - TAS26 e da Observer Alexithymia Scale - OAS. O referencial teórico adotado foi o psicanalítico. Com base nos dados identificou-se que a paciente tem dificuldade com a autoimagem e autoestima, além de apresentar comportamentos que sugerem Personalidade tipo A. Apesar de ter a sua pontuação inconclusiva na TAS26 e considerada como clinica na OAS, com a análise do conjunto dos instrumentos conclui-se que a jovem não é alexitímica, uma vez que não apresentou tais configurações mentais de forma evidente. O estudo demonstra assim, como um psicodiagnóstico mais aprofundado pode impedir tal conclusão errônea."
