Si més no, la vegetació sempre ha estat un dels grans enemics de la construcció després de l’aigua, el present treball la pren en consideració com a recurs aplicat a l'arquitectura per tal d'adaptar-nos a la situació d'emergència climàtica. El pronòstic per a les zones de clima mediterrani, especialment a zones costaneres com Barcelona, llancen dades preocupants per als propers anys, cosa que pot suposar l'oportunitat per desenvolupar l'estudi i impulsar la implantació de les façanes verdes i jardins verticals; aspectes com l'ampliació del ventall de d'espècies vegetals utilitzades i d'espècies animals beneficiades; eficàcia en el control del confort humà i ambiental; optimització dels sistemes constructius.
