Forced Migration of Colombians: Colombia, Ecuador, Canada
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This document presents the results of the\nfirst phase of research on forced migration\nof Colombians to Canada, which is part\nof a broader research project on forced\nmigration of Colombians. A Comparative\nStudy of Fear, Historical Memory and\nSocial Representations in Colombia,\nEcuador and Canada. Data collection and\nanalysis was carried out from the end of\n2004 (with a pilot project in the city of\nVancouver) through the end of 2006. The\nresults presented here take into account\nthe explanatory contexts of the dynamicsof migration by Colombians to Canada, the\nsocio-demographic profile of Colombian\nimmigrants to Canada, and public policies\nregarding immigration and refuge that\ninform and directly affect the protection\nand resettlement of Colombian refugees. In\nparticular the results of three case studies,\ncarried out in London (Ontario), Sherbrooke\n(Quebec) and Vancouver (British Columbia),\nare presented. These look to settlement\nexperiences and the use of memory and\nthe fears experienced by refugees as they\nremake themselves as social and political\nsubjects, at the forms of association and\nsocial networking that are developed and\ntheir experiences of integration or exclusion\nin these societies.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
