Abstract
En este informe se detallan las actividades llevadas a cabo durante una pasantía en el Archivo Central e Histórico de la Biblioteca Departamental Jorge Garces Borrero. Se siguieron las pautas establecidas por la institución anfitriona y se adquirió experiencia en el campo de la archivística y la historia institucional. Se realizaron tareas de catalogación y digitalización de documentos. La pasantía brinda una oportunidad para ampliar el abanico de oportunidades laborales y contribuir a la experiencia profesional. En la segunda fase del informe, se pretende dar visibilidad sobre la Red Departamental de Bibliotecas Públicas del Valle del Cauca en el siglo XX. Se abordarán los antecedentes de su creación en 1977 hasta 1999, con el propósito de destacar sus orígenes y los comienzos de este programa que busca fomentar la lectura y hacerla más accesible tanto en zonas rurales como urbanas.
