Ce mémoire exploite le champ cinématographique en regard de divers auteurs littéraires et cinéastes, et ce dans le dessein d'aborder une recherche-création sur le concept du « documentaire autofictionnel ». \n \nIl est donc question de l'image en mouvement et de ce qu'elle peut nous apporter dans la concrétisation d'un sujet de recherche qui se confronte au stéréotype du bûcheron québécois. Notre réflexion s'empare d'une ambiguïté toujours présente au niveau du concept de création et de notre statut d'étrangère car traiter le stéréotype fait aussi référence à notre propre étranger été, c'est-à-dire notre vision étrangère de l'Autre. Notre réflexion s'appuiera sur une démarche de création cinématographique documentaire et autofictionnelle, et ce, afin de répondre à notre désir de nous ouvrir aux autres dans l'appréhension d'une réalité ambivalente. \n \nCe mémoire restitue donc le récit de mes essais en création pour lesquels j'ai défendu une position de Ventre du documentaire et de la fiction, et l'entre du Je et du Moi exprimés à l'écran. Un processus filmique qui consistera à user du cliché pour s'en exclure et obtenir une image qui va bien au delà de la banalité par l'illusion. Voici comment je suis parvenue à faire d'un stéréotype un sujet de film autodérisoire sur la divergence culturelle.
