Der vorliegende kultursoziologische Beitrag will am Beispiel der grönländischen Inuit der Frage nachgehen, wie diese beschriebenen Minderheitenrechte im globalen Umweltschutzregime zum Tragen kommen. Diese müssten gemäß der internationalen Diskurse über Indigenität und Ökologie in der konkreten Verwaltung der natürlichen Ressourcen integriert werden. Dabei wird in den globalen Diskursen davon ausgegangen, dass Menschen mit unterschiedlichem kulturellen Hintergrund und Rechtsvorstellungen aufeinandertreffen, die sich zugespitzt durch die Dichotomie westlich vs. nicht-westliche Gesellschaft charakterisieren lassen.
