Abstract
À l'aube des restes industriels est une projection architecturale qui prend pour objet l'entrepôt Van Home du quartier du Mile End, à Montréal. Cette œuvre souhaite générer une expérience immersive de l'espace, à partir de la réappropriation d'infrastructures postindustrielles. En plongeant au cœur de la mémoire et de l'imaginaire ferroviaire, la scénographie urbaine proposée invite les citoyens à une expérience nouvelle de ces lieux marqués par l'histoire, et surtout, à envisager différemment nos façons de les habiter. L'installation documentaire a investi le Parc des crépuscules jouxtant la voie ferrée le temps d'une soirée, en mai 2014. Un son surround et un système d'éclairage mettaient en valeur les sculptures de Glen LeMesurier installées en permanence sur le site. En alliant espace, architecture, lumière, image et son, cette création proposait une expérience poétique de la ville. Ce mémoire de recherche-création en média expérimental questionne ainsi le rapport aux espaces et aux infrastructures industrielles par l'entremise d'une installation documentaire. Il s'intéresse aux notions d'espace, de mémoire, de traces et de ruines urbaines.
