lA "HERMANdAd dE sAN JOsÉ" d'AlBINYANA REsuM El darrer quart del segle XIX van néixer a molts pobles del Penedès una sèrie de germandats amb noms del santoral.Albinyana no en fou una excepció.la seva "Hermandad de san José" fou creada el 1885, es legalitzà el 1898, quedà paralitzada del 1939 al 1951 i s'extingí sobtadament el 1965.Aquest treball recull la seva vida i miracles.ABstRACt A series of brotherhoods named after saints arose in many Penedès Area towns during the last quarter of the 19 th Century.Albinyana was no exception to this: its "Hermandad de san José" (saint Joseph's Brotherhood) was founded in 1885 and registered in 1898; it remained inactive from 1939 to 1951 and it suddenly dissolved in 1965.this survey depicts its whole life story.EXPlICACIÓ la creació de Germandats -dites llavors "Hermandades"-al Penedès esclatà les darreres dècades del segle XIX.Totes elles eren de tipus benèfic i batejades amb noms del santoral.Així, els anys 1871-72 se'n fundà una als Monjos amb la denominació de "Montepío bajo el patrocinio del Glorioso Patriarca San José", que es convertí en "Hermandad" el 1888.El 1892, a Can Rubió, del mateix terme, es fundà la "Hermandad de Socorros Mutuos bajo el título de la Virgen del Pilar".(1) A la Bisbal, possiblement el 1879, es creà la "Hermandad de la Purísima Concepción", i el 1888 la "Hermandad de San José".(2)Donats aquests precedents -i molts d'altres que en podríem trobar arreu i que no fan al cas-, no és estrany que a Albinyana sorgís també la necessitat de voler assegurar les mancances que, per invalidesa o accidents propis del treball agrícola, podrien patir els veïns.La idea es materialitzà l'any 1885.
