Abstract
Reconnue comme une composante essentielle des programmes de surveillance de la qualité de l’eau, la biosurveillance basée sur les macroinvertébrés benthiques fait désormais partie intégrante de nombreuses orientations et objectifs d’assainissement internationaux. Véritable sujet d’actualité environnementale internationale, les biocritères, normes qui décrivent explicitement l’état du biote, offrent une gamme étendue d’informations cruciales liées à la gestion de l’eau. Ces derniers visent à outiller les instances gouvernementales afin qu’elles puissent ratifier l’évaluation biologique des plans d’eau, notamment dans l’optique de maintenir la capacité de support du milieu et de s’adapter à la réalité éloquente des impacts de l’anthropisation sur les écosystèmes aquatiques.
