Abstract
Ce mémoire porte sur le sens qu'accordent les lectrices du magazine québécois Châtelaine au discours féministe diffusé entre 2014 et 2016, et ce, dans un contexte médiatique influencé par le postféminisme. Encadrée par une approche constructiviste et féministe, la démarche qualitative déployée a permis à la chercheuse de dégager en quoi les représentations du féminisme chez les lectrices relèvent d'une sensibilité postféministe et de nuancer les défis que pose ce discours au projet politique féministe. Les dix entretiens menés auprès des lectrices ont révélé leurs multiples conceptions du mouvement féministe et leurs positionnements parfois paradoxaux au sein de discours post et proféministes. Leur appréciation du magazine Châtelaine comme agent de sensibilisation au féminisme soutient la thèse de la capacité émancipatrice des médias féminins, malgré certaines critiques adressées au magazine. Enfin, le rôle de la recherche sur l'interprétation des textes et sur l'identification féministe témoigne de l'importance de situer la réception dans son contexte immédiat et plus large et de la pertinence des recherches féministes en communication publique.
