Abstract
El este de Canadá, la zona conocida ahora como Quebec, ha desempeñado desde su conquista por los europeos un papel principal como punto de partida para la colonización de ese vasto país y, en muchos casos, para la de su vecino del sur. Las diferentes políticas de colonización puestas en marcha por las distintas metrópolis, ya fuera el imperio francés o el británico y, más tarde, como país independiente, nos dan claves para comprender los diversas políticas de prevención contra la entrada y el despliegue de enfermedades infecciosas en suelo canadiense.
