Abstract
Opinnäytetyön aiheena on Satakunnan ammattikorkeakoulun kansainvälisten opiskelijoiden näkemykset asuntola-asumisesta. Työssä tarkasteltiin heidän nykyistä asuntotilannettaan sekä toiveita asumisen tiloihin, sijaintiin ja hintatasoon liittyen. Tavoitteena oli selvittää asuntolan tarpeellisuus opiskelijoiden kokemusten pohjalta. Työn toimeksiantaja oli porilainen kiinteistöhallinnon yritys Teljänriihi Kiinteistö Oy. Työn teoriaosuudessa käsitellään kansainvälisten korkeakouluopiskelijoiden määrää Suomessa sekä opiskelijoiden asumiseen liittyviä haasteita ja tarpeita. Erityisesti pohditaan, kuinka opiskelijat kokevat yhteisasumisen vaikutukset elämänlaatuun ja opiskeluympäristöön. Teoriaosuudessa tarkastellaan myös asuntomarkkinoiden tilannetta Porin alueella, jossa tutkimus on toteutettu. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kvantitatiivisena tutkimuksena ja aineisto kerättiin Google Forms -lomakkeen avulla. Kyselylinkki jaettiin sähköpostitse Satakunnan ammattikorkeakoulun Porin kampuksella opiskeleville kansainvälisille tutkinto- ja vaihto-opiskelijoille. Kyselyyn saatiin 81 vastausta, jotka analysoitiin graafisin kaavioin. Kyselytutkimuksessa selvisi, että kansainväliset opiskelijat pitävät asuntolaa mahdollisena ja mielekkäänä asumisvaihtoehtona, mikäli tietyt ehdot täyttyvät. Kyselyyn vastanneet opiskelijat korostavat edullista hintatasoa, keskeistä sijaintia kouluun nähden sekä turvallista asumista.
