Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Her daughter-in-law, Colleen Daley, found the ring while harvesting carrots for supper with her dog Billy at the farm near Armena, Alberta, where Grams used to live. The farm has been in the family for 105 years. An engagement ring missing for 13 years is back on the finger of its owner...after being found wrapped around a carrot...Mary Grams lost the ring while she was weeding a garden on the family farm in Alberta, Canada......and told C-T-V, she remembers exactly when she lost it...She says she can't believe she's wearing it again after searching so long with no luck...Grams says she never told her husband she lost it...he died five years ago.The ring was found when Grams' daughter was pulling carrots to have for dinner...She said she thought one of them looked weird but took it anyway...after rinsing the dirt off, she saw the carrot grew through and around the ring.Grams says she feels relieved and happy inside.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
