Abstract
En janvier 2008, j’ai été invité par le professeur J. J. McMurtry, coordonnateur du programme « Business and Society », de l’Université York, à Toronto, à produire un texte sur l’économie sociale au Québec. Ce texte était destiné à devenir un chapitre dans un livre produit sous sa direction, Perspective on Canada’s Social Economy et publié par Emond Mongomery Publications, de Toronto. J’ai accepté cette invitation et me suis mis à la tâche dans les mois qui ont suivi. À l’été 2008, je me suis retrouvé avec une version de 27 000 mots, alors que l’éditeur attendait une version de 15 000 mots. J’ai décidé alors de faire deux textes distincts : une version courte qui serait traduite en anglais pour le livre et une version intégrale qui serait publiée en français comme Working Paper. Je suis heureux, grâce à ce cahier de recherche, de rendre publique la version intégrale de mon texte en français parce qu’elle présente la partie 3 du texte à laquelle je suis très attaché, partie que j’ai dû résumer pour le chapitre du livre de McMurtry.
