Abstract
Cet ouvrage traite de l’institution universitaire telle qu’elle est vécue et pratiquée au Québec. Son intérêt tient essentiellement à l’originalité de l’angle d’appro che et de son lieu d’élaboration: presque tous les textes qu’il rassemble, en les mettant à jour et en les remaniant parfois substantiellement, ont été produits à la manière de gestes d’intervention intégrés à des fonctions de direction et d’orientation stratégique. Le propos est celui d’un administrateur désireux d’expliciter le sens de son action et convaincu que la pre- mière tâche de gestion est de formuler et de proposer la direction de l’entreprise commune, les visées et les valeurs capables de mobiliser et d’éclairer l’action et la décision. Se tisse ainsi la trame, politique au sens le plus fondamental du terme, d’une vision et de perspectives pouvant encore contribuer à inspirer la suite des choses.
