Menetelmäopas s2 lapsen kielellisen kehityksen tukemiseen varhaiskasvatuksessa

Abstract
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella ja tuottaa menetelmäopas varhaiskasvatusyksikön käyttöön s2 lasten kielellisen kehityksen tukemiseksi. Tavoitteena oli helpottaa varhaiskasvattajien s2 -pedagogista työtä varhaiskasvatuksen arjessa valmiiden materiaalien ja menetelmien avulla. Tämän myötä tavoitteena oli myös s2 lasten suomen kielen kehityksen tukeminen. Tämän opinnäytetyön työelämäkumppanina toimi Riihimäen kaupungin varhaiskasvatusyksikkö. \n \nOpinnäytetyön tietoperustassa tarkasteltiin monikielisyyttä, kielen kehityksen tukemista ja siihen vaikuttavia tekijöitä, s2 eli suomea toisena kielenä, suomen kieltä kotoutumisen tukena, kielitietoista varhaiskasvatusta sekä leikkiä kielen kehittymisen tukena. Teoreettisena tietoperustana käytettiin laajalti ammattikirjallisuutta, lakeja ja säädöksiä sekä tilastotietoa. \n \nOpinnäytetyö toteutettiin kehittämismuotoisena opinnäytetyönä, jonka tuotoksena oli menetelmäopas materiaaleineen. Menetelmänä opinnäytetyössä käytettiin benchmarking -kehittämismenetelmää sekä teoreettista tietoperustaa, joiden avulla kokosimme helppokäyttöisen ja monipuolisen s2 -menetelmäoppaan. \n \nJatkossa työelämäkumppani voi hyödyntää opinnäytetyön tuotosta kaikkien varhaiskasvatusyksikön lapsiryhmien kanssa. Eri menetelmiä yhdistelemällä varhaiskasvatuksen kasvattajat voivat helposti toteuttaa s2 -opetustuokioita lapsille. Menetelmiä voidaan käyttää myös yksittäin lyhyempinä tuokioina. Menetelmiä voidaan toteuttaa koko lapsiryhmän kanssa, vaikka kaikki lapset eivät kuuluisikaan s2 -opetuksen piiriin.
