Many victims of Superstorm Sandy continue to suffer from psychological stress, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) more than a year after the storm. This finding comes from a Monmouth University Poll tracking survey of New Jersey residents who suffered significant property damage from the storm or displaced from their homes for a month or longer. Approximately one year after Sandy hit, Monmouth pollsters interviewed nearly 1,000 of the most impacted New Jersey residents. More than 600 were re-interviewed over the past few months. The survey finds that little has changed in these survivors' mental health picture over the past year.
