La fotógrafa Ouka Leele supone un referente fundamental en la fotografía española del
\nsiglo XX. Es la primera mujer artista cuya obra es expuesta en el Museo del Prado en
\nMadrid, además de ser considerada como uno de los máximos exponentes de la
\npostmodernidad española, y de la denominada Movida madrileña.
\nSu trabajo también supone un claro referente en la fotografía contemporánea española, en
\nla que se sitúa además como pionera, tanto por su estética como por la técnica que utiliza
\nen sus fotografías en blanco y negro pintadas con acuarelas. El tema principal de su obra
\nsuele estar centrado en el retrato en el que desarrolla un extenso imaginario a partir de
\nuna estética surrealista. Para ella no existe un guion de creación. Es en todos los aspectos
\nuna artista libre, de ortodoxia, ideología de grupo o movimiento cultural. Posee una
\ncreatividad particular, sin discurso integrador de ningún grupo ni corriente.
\nSu trabajo tiene el aroma clásico de Dalí o Magritte, mientras que su puesta en escena
\nresulta mucho más cercana, a menudo relacionada con su mundo cotidiano. La figura
\nhumana tiende a ser el elemento principal en su contenido fotográfico. Además se apoya
\nde diversos lenguajes como la poesía, el teatro, o la pintura para crear una obra única.
