Abstract
The NHL playoff field is set after the Penguins and Senators won Saturday to clinch spots in the postseason. (4139) Senators goalie Andrew Hammond was a big part of Ottawa's late-season run that saw the Sens finish 24-4-4 in the final 32 games. Ottawa clinched its spot by beating the Flyers 3-1 Saturday. The Penguins clinched the 8th and final spot in the East by shutting out Buffalo 2-0. That left the Boston Bruins on the outside looking in after falling in a shootout to Tampa Bay. So the NHL playoff picture sets up like this: in the east, Ottawa takes on Montreal...Detroit plays Tampa Bay, it'll be the Rangers against the Penguins, and the Capitals will host the Islanders. Out west, it's Minnesota-St Louis, Nashville hosts Chicago, Anaheim takes on Winnipeg, and Vancouver plays Calgary.
