Abstract
A pesar de que la pandemia del VIH ha sido considerada una prioridad política mundial y un problema de salud con consecuencias devastadoras desde 1981, sigue siendo uno de los principales problemas de salud pública del mundo y su transmisión persiste en todos los países, la deficiencia en los conocimientos y las prácticas sexuales de riesgo potencian la infección entre los jóvenes. La percepción de riesgo es la capacidad que tiene el individuo de actuar y asumir actitudes de protección ante situaciones que le pueden originar algún problema de salud. Por lo tanto, la presente revisión tiene como objetivo analizar la literatura científica disponible sobre la percepción al riesgo sexual que tienen los jóvenes; la investigación se realizó utilizando la metodología de Toronto, utilizando palabras claves en bases de datos: Pubmed, Google Académico y Scielo. El trabajo permitió tener una perspectiva más amplia respecto a la percepción al riesgo sexual en jóvenes. Como resultado se encontró que los jóvenes tienen baja percepción al riesgo sexual, en lo que respecta al sexo los hombres presentaron mayor percepción comparado con las mujeres. Los jóvenes perciben como riesgo sexual la actividad sexual descuidada, tener muchas parejas sexuales, consumo de sustancias ilícitas y alcohol.
