Abstract
Se analiza la institución familiar en el conocimiento, transmisión y preservación de la tradición alimentaria sobre la elaboración del sendejo, como parte de su historia social e identidad de la comunidad. Para cumplir dicho propósito, se fijaron una serie de objetivos específicos: elaborar una descripción del contexto de San Isidro Labrador, Municipio de Villa Victoria, destacando rasgos físicos, organización y estructura social; describir el proceso de la elaboración y uso de la bebida sendejo en el Barrio de San Isidro Labrador, Municipio de Villa Victoria: identificar el papel de la institución familiar en la transmisión de la elaboración de la bebida, y el contexto sociocultural en que se desenvuelve actualmente y analizar la función social de las familias en la preservación y uso festivo del sendejo, como parte importante de la identidad local y su valor cultural.
