Abstract
Een groot deel van de bevolking van grootstedelijk Nederland bestaat \nuit niet-westerse allochtonen van Turkse, Marokkaanse, Surinaamse en \nAntilliaanse origine. Hoewel er de afgelopen jaren veel onderzoek is verricht \nnaar diverse aspecten van de leefsituatie van deze groepen, is er weinig bekend \nover hun mobiliteitsgedrag. Hoe vaak zijn allochtonen onderweg en voor welke \ndoeleinden? Welke afstanden leggen ze af en wordt daarbij gebruikgemaakt van \nauto, openbaar vervoer of fiets? Is het mobiliteitsgedrag anders dan dat van \nautochtone Nederlanders, of vertoont het juist veel overeenkomsten? \n Anders onderweg probeert deze vragen te beantwoorden, op verzoek van \nen in samenwerking met het ministerie van Verkeer en Waterstaat. Daarbij is \ngebruikgemaakt van nieuwe onderzoeksgegevens, die het Sociaal en Cultureel \nPlanbureau in 2004 en 2005 heeft verzameld.
