Abstract
Þessi ritgerð fjallar um stjórnskipulega stöðu Grænlands. \nMegin rannsóknarspurningin er hver er stjórnskipuleg staða Grænlands. Hvernig er fullveldi, ytra og innra fyrirkomið í stjórnarskrá Danmerkur og sjálfsstjórnarsamningnum og heimastjórnalögunum. Hvernig takmarkar eða heimilar sú staða aðkomu grænlendinga að alþjóðasamfélaginu þegar kemur að málefnum Norðurskautsins? Spurningunni er svarað með skoðun á heimspeki fullveldis, grundvallarlaga og lagakerfa. Stjórnskipuleg staða Grænlands er greind með skoðun á Heimastjórnarlögunum frá 1978, Sjálfsstjórnarsamningum frá 2009 og dönsku stjórnarskránni. Rannsakað er hvaða vald er framselt af danska Þjóðþinginu til grænlenska landsþingsins og á hvaða lagastoðum það framsal hvílir. \nAð auki eru könnuð meginatriði vestrænna grundvallarlaga og hvort hefðbundin vestræn gildi eru frábrugðin samfélagsreglum Grænlendinga. \nGreint er frá menningarheimi Grænlendinga hvað varðar hegningarlög, eignarrétt, afstöðu til landeignar og fjallað um samband Danmerkur og Grænlands í sögulegu ljósi. Þá er fjallað um hvernig Grænlendingar ásamt öðrum Ínúítaþjóðum taka þátt í mótun alþjóðalaga sem varða Norðurskautið á vettvangi Norðurskautsráðsins og Inuit Circumpolar Council. Niðurstaðan er að þrátt fyrir þær takmarkanir á ytra fullveldi sem danska stjórnarskráin, Sjálfsstjórnarsamningurinn og Heimastjórnarlögin setja, hafa Grænlendingar haft áhrif á þróun fullveldishugmynda og viðmiða alþjóðalaga um hverjir geta átt aðild að alþjóðasamtökum.
