This Master Thesis investigates young graduates' attitudes towards motivational sources and work preferences in Austria, Canada and Taiwan.In addition to nationality, the influence of gender, study level, study field, age and work experience on motivation is analysed.The results clearly show significant differences regarding outward and challenge motivation between the countries.However, nationality does not have an impact on the importance young graduates place on compensation and enjoyment motivation.In contrast to previous research, gender does, apart from enjoyment motivation, not affect participants' motivational sources and work preferences in a particular way.Concerning study level and field, the displayed scores of extrinsic motivation differ between graduates and undergraduates as well as between students of different study disciplines.The findings of the thesis underline the importance of intercultural management in the context of employee motivation.If managed properly, intercultural management holds the potential for positive effects for the individual employee and the company as a whole.
