Abstract
This 2.6 km linear trail begins at McGuire Lake and continues past 30 Street NE near Okanagan Ave. E., eventually connecting with Little Mountain Park. (This slideshow concerns the stretch between the first two points.) The trail gently climbs a sloping urban landscape; f or much of its course it closely follows the creek, us u ally in a narrow greenbelt u nder a variable tree canopy behind residences. Three ponds fed into the creek which, in turn, is a tributary of McGuire Lake. The tree canopy increases with elevation and around the ponds. Open spaces, especially a mini-meadow hillside slope between McGuire Park and the nearby high school, were populated by the colourful wildflowers and tree blossoms typical of the summer solstice.
